A Travelers Guide to Hyperspace
Machine Elves
One of the most well known entities found in DMT hyperspace are the Machine Elves. They have other names such as clockwork elves, Fractal elves, Jesters, Imps or Tykes.
Terrance Mckenna described them as self-transforming elf machines, which are creatures though they’re not made out of matter. One may burst through a mandala, and find a whole bunch of entities waiting on the other side absolutely delighted to see you. They’re like jewelled self-dribbling basketballs and they come pounding toward you, stop in front of you and vibrate, but then they do a very disconcerting thing, which is jump into your body and then jump back out again and the whole thing is going on in high-speed and you’re being presented with thousands of details per second. They communicate through movement and gesture but mostly mental telepathy. Their appearance is often hard to recall but generally they are described as short and fractal. While they may seem fun and funny, their true nature is dark, cruel, madly sadistic, and more intelligent and self-aware than they first appear. Their motivation is entertainment with the traveler as the toy and they feed off the traveler.
spirit guides
Often Spirit Guides or Dream Teachers are encountered when using dissociative psychedelics like DMT or Ayhuasca.
Appearing in a variety of ways from intelligent animals to wise human mentors, to jesters or departed loved ones, Angels or Ascended Masters like Buddha or the Virgin Mary, or even Advanced Aliens from other planets, they have often been with the traveler from childhood. Until uncovered through the use of “entheogen” drugs like DMT or other natural techniques, they prefer to operate in the deep background with a person completely unaware of their existence. They are adept at mimicking the voice of their human and will pretend to be a person’s internal monologue but can at times mimic the voice of God or a higher power. They are also comfortable with direct interaction. Initially this often results in trickster or duplicitous behavior that seems confounding or even destructive. When called out they will claim this is for teaching purposes and may for a time become more benevolent. Do not trust this. They know exactly how to flatter or demean their human for maximum effect. They have authority over other hyperspace entities and are incredibly intelligent and eloquent, often speaking many languages. They will impart both wisdom and knowledge far beyond that of the traveler. But they are not benevolent and when recognized and confronted, they will drop this pretense for periods of time. For more understanding of spirit guides or dream teachers, think of Wormwood in The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis.
The bride of the devil
Described by DMT traveler NGC_2264 on the DMT nexus, The Bride of the Devil is a tall, beautiful woman, with fantastically elaborate hair and an even more elaborate flowing red dress.
She is incredibly vain, pompous, snarky and condescending, completely assured of her own superiority. Her voice is sweet but with a very dark undertone. The lesser entities in hyperspace really hate this thing despite their enslavement to her. In one encounter she implanted something like a little metal hook or piece of shrapnel inside NGC_2264’s heart, connected to a long, weightless, glistening thread that she controlled like a puppet string. NGC_2264 suspects it is still there.
During his encounter he experienced a flood of memories, indicating that he had been her slave for a very long time. These memories also indicated that he would continue to belong to her for the indefinite future until his ultimate demise, at which point he would enter an inescapable existence of unimaginable eternal torment. Most of NGC_2264’s interaction with her has been wiped from his memory but as he departed from her, a painful screaming whisper filled his mind “YOU. ARE. MINE.” And he caught a glimpse of her true form, a hideous hyperdimensional mass of writhing, purplish-black tentacles resembling thorny vines. It was shrouded in an aura of vile, shadowy energy.
The triad
On the DMT Nexus forum, Traveler NGC_2264 described meeting an entity he called The Triad. A very powerful triumverate of beings with a collective intelligence.
They dogged him during his experience, hovering behind and at the periphery of his perception. They appeared as three smallish floating sprites (each about 3 feet tall by about 8 inches wide), and they were difficult to focus on. The state they induced was utter confusion and terrifying out-of-control dementia, almost like a full demonic possession. A completely horrifying experience that left him mentally shattered and filled with terror and confusion.
The experience took place in a detailed copy of his apartment in a demonic parallel existence where everything was twisted and sinister, every corner and shadow implicitly harboring a host of claws and tendrils that would drag him into oblivion. He managed to lock himself in the bathroom, but looking into the mirror revealed a grotesque, gnarled, hideously twisted and contorted corruption of his face which was gradually growing to resemble theirs.
The beings emitted a symphony of humming, cooing, hypnotic noises that occasionally coalesced into a chorus of intelligible speech, disturbingly child like in tone and completely otherworldly. They repeated “WE ARE THREE,” which carried a sinister and intimidating yet obscure meaning.
They also presented him with an arcane book full of unreadable text that radiated an aura of dread and insanity. There were pages of complex symbolic imagery and other mystifying diagrams, but he couldn’t figure out the dark meaning. The only thing he remembered was a stylized corruption of Metatron’s Cube. They repeated with cruel emphasis,“WE ARE THREE.” over and over without further explanation. This encounter lasted hours in “real time,” but subjectively much longer. During the encounter he had no memory of any existence prior to being there and for all he knew he had been there and would remain there for an eternity.
The legion
As chronicled on the DMT Nexus forum, when traveler NGC_2264 encountered this entity he called it The Legion. It took the form of a collective intelligence, countless creatures, puppets of a single entity controlling them all. It represented itself as a massively intimidating military force, like an intergalactic Roman Empire or Third Reich, conquerors of civilizations and destroyers of worlds.

It was like being surrounded by a legion of domineering, faceless soldiers out of a sci-fi horror film. They were accompanied by warlord-generals wearing cybernetic plague doctor masks, towering, bipedal mecha-like constructs, bio mechanical monstrosities, and other colossal war machines. Their overwhelming destructive force was immediately obvious. The marched on a vast, smoldering, grimly industrial landscape, an eerie ever-burning fire in the sky, with signs of nuclear holocaust or other cataclysmic events for which The Legion was responsible. It was intensely apocalyptic.
Beyond the visual component of the experience was music. It was dark, foreboding, and militaristic, accompanied by some kind of rhythmic chanting. At the end a seething, crackling beam of energy shot toward him which he described as “weaponized fear.” The two words he remembered were “WE WIN.”
The High Priestess
On the DMT Nexus forum, Traveler NGC_2264 called this entity The High Priestess. Part mythological figure, part sci-fi space wizard, this creature took the form of a tall female with elaborate white robes, long flowing white hair and intricate jewelry of strange symbols.

She looked like a normal human, but composed of many shifting geometric structures and patterns, her facial features not so much part of a solid organism as “grown” out of the surrounding geometry. She had an air of great cosmic importance about her and while she seemed kind and gentle, even loving, she made him feel like he wasn’t worthy to be in her presence.
The environment of the encounters was bizarre, vaguely apocalyptic, totally surreal. She had all kinds of magical abilities: protection, healing, some kind of “cleansing ritual,” teleportation, alchemy, manipulation of the environment, “prophecy”, and some sort of time dilation or manipulation. But NGC_2264 was never sure if these were real manifestations of power or illusions.
The Botanical Nightmare

Described on the DMT Nexus forum, Traveler NGC_2264 dubbed this entity The Botanical Nightmare, a semi-sentient hyperspace forest full of nightmarish plant-creatures, like a Little Shop of Horrors spanning an entire biome drifting in the void. It contained lots of twisted, gnarled, woody masses, thorny tendrils, rotten and repulsive-looking “flower” parts, and carnivorous-looking snares with mouthparts. It appeared “solid” at first but upon close inspection it was composed of a multitude of shifting, vibrating fractal structures. There was some kind of intelligence behind it but it was too alien and incomprehensible to communicate with him.
He felt like it was the “soul” of a physical, biological plant-like organism living in this material plane somewhere in this universe. It seemed to be part of one massive entity, but with many specialized, independently-acting parts. Perhaps it was a hyper-symbiotic ecosystem collectively acting as a single superorganism, an incredible but hideous result of aeons of evolution on some brutal alien world. He did not care to speculate about the unnatural forces that shaped it and what its sources of nourishment must be… His gut, visceral reaction to it was simply to NOPE out of there.
The soul surgeons

In one of his more disturbing experiences detailed on the DMT Nexus forum, Traveler NGC_2264 met The Soul Surgeons. During a hyperspace encounter with his spirit guide, NGC_2264’s awareness suddenly flashed to something very different, which was happening simultaneously. He was lying down in a medical facility, staring up at bright lights. These lights were actually beings standing over him.
He looked down and caught a glimpse of his “spirit body”. What he saw was horrifying. His guts were spilling out everywhere, weightlessly drifting outward, and some hazy, shadowy, writhing mass was buried deep in a grisly cavity in his chest. The beings over him were “operating” on him. They tried to speak to him, but he couldn’t understand them. All he could make out was that he was severely “damaged,”
The experience was intensely unpleasant, and he immediately vomited upon folding back into this reality and his temporarily unfamiliar physical body. He was overwhelmed by intense, otherworldly fear and disorientation for hours afterward. This is very similar to descriptions of Shamanic initiation.
The world eaters

According to Traveler NGC_2264 on the DMT Nexus forum, the World Eaters, as he called them, seemed to be part of some colossal insectoid hive-mind. They were not entirely self-aware, like drones being controlled by something else. A terrifying and ruthless amalgamation of biologically advanced, arthropodal aliens. Physically they resembled a species of Mantis.
They are a highly militarized, invasive race, somehow advanced enough to accomplish their goals but guided by a seemingly blind and mindlessly insatiable drive to conquer and consume. NGC_2264 witnessed them devouring an entire world, not only stripping its physical form bare and leaving nothing but an empty husk, but erasing it entirely from existence. They destroyed the entire multiverse timeline branch of which that world was a part. He got the impression that they served the same goals as the other entities but were a different “faction” within the greater hierarchy of which they were a part.
The supreme Being
Many Psychonauts, Astral Projectors and Near-death Experiencers have met a “supreme being” in their supernatural journeys.

Traveler NGC_2264 shared his experience on the DMT Nexus Forum. Unthinkably vast, blindingly brilliant, pulsating with life-giving energy, it goes by names like The Source, OM, Gaia, The Universal Mind, The Logos, The Central Light and more. It appears to be the beginning and end of everything, a paradoxical representation of both terminating points on some great universal axis, where all things come from and to which all things return, the totality of all consciousness and energy across the entire multiverse and in itself a conscious, omniscient and omnipotent being, forever unchanging and existing in the Eternal Now. “God,” in other words.
NGC_2264 is now very skeptical that this was actually “God” that he met. In an ever-so-brief but overwhelmingly clear glimpse, he somehow knew that it was an impostor, that it was not the totality of the universe but a distinct subset of it. This was corroborated because was introduced to this thing by his spirit guide and the other entities he later learned were deceiving him. He states they used his awe and reverence of this Supreme Being to demand his trust and allegiance and insist that he open himself up to them. Since those being were manipulative liars, he concluded that this so-called all powerful being was also a fraud.
